Rockwell Collins announces first round of flood recovery grants
Rockwell Collins is awarding a total of $609,185 through the first round of grants from the Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery
Fund. The grants are being made available to qualified organizations and agencies that are serving flood victims or were themselves
impacted by the 2008 floods.
"These grants represent a good start toward helping our non-profit agencies get back on their feet," said Rockwell Collins
President, Chairman and CEO Clay Jones. "As we see the recovery efforts continue, I'm confident that our community will pull
together like never before to become stronger than ever."
The first round of grants will go toward helping organizations with operational expenses and programs and services. Requests
for funding through a second round of grants, aimed at aiding capital/rebuilding projects, will be announced in the future.

The Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund was established after the historic June floods that devastated parts of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa City and other eastern Iowa communities. Contributors to the $2.7M fund include the Rockwell Collins Charitable Corporation,
along with the company's employees, retirees, friends, customers and suppliers.

Grant application process closed
The grant application process is now closed for the first cycle of Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund.
The Rockwell Collins review committee is now evaluating the applications submitted by nonprofit organizations that address
one of two areas:
- Health and human service organizations serving immediate needs and providing long-term support to flood victims
- Nonprofit organizations directly impacted by flooding
A full list of grant awards will be published on this website no later than November 1, 2008.

Rockwell Collins accepting applications for flood recovery funds
Rockwell Collins today announced that it will begin making the first round of grants from the Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery fund to qualified organizations
and agencies that are serving flood victims or were themselves impacted by flooding.
The majority of funding will be awarded based on competitive grant processes, while some grant funding will be awarded at
the discretion of the Rockwell Collins grant committee.
Eligible organizations include nonprofit 501(c)(3) and public/government agencies that fit the following criteria:
- Nonprofit health and human service organizations serving immediate needs and providing long-term support to flood victims
- Any nonprofit organizations directly impacted by flooding (i.e. arts and culture, civic, human service, etc.)
The grant application process is now closed for the first cycle of Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund.

Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area hotel rooms in short supply
Employees, customers, and suppliers who are scheduled to travel to the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area in the coming weeks are
advised to reconfirm hotel reservations and room availability prior to departure.
Due to the recent flooding in Eastern Iowa, flood victims, Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives, contractors,
and volunteer agencies are using a number of hotel rooms in the area. As a result, many hotels are at capacity and may be
unable to honor previous reservations.

Rockwell Collins establishes Flood Recovery Fund
Rockwell Collins has established the Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund. This fund will enable company employees, retirees,
customers, suppliers, and other friends of the company to make financial donations to flood recovery efforts.
Employees based in the United States and retirees who would like to make a donation can do so by writing a check to the Rockwell
Collins Employee United Fund and indicating "flood recovery." Checks should be sent to the attention of Jolene Trout, Rockwell
Collins, 400 Collins Road NE, M/S 106-176, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498. U.S. based employees also have the options of donating through payroll deduction and through the exchange of accrued vacation
time. Online forms to allow employees to select payroll deduction or exchange vacation time will be available later this week.
International employees, customers, suppliers, and other friends of the company who wish to donate can do so by writing a
check to the Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund, c/o the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, PO Box 9, Marion, IA
52302. Donations may also be made via credit card at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation's Web site at http://www.gcrcf.org/. In the field called "Fund Designation," select Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Donor Advised Fund from the drop down menu.

Rockwell Collins contributes $2 million for flood relief
In response to historic flooding in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area, Rockwell Collins announced today it will make an initial $2 million contribution to aid local flood relief efforts. The funds will be used to support
the immediate needs of flood victims, as well as ongoing clean-up and restoration activities.
Rockwell Collins is also formulating plans to mobilize teams of employees to assist in the ongoing cleanup and recovery efforts
once the floodwaters recede. Company officials are coordinating with local and national disaster relief organizations to determine
when and how these teams can best serve flood victims' needs. Additional information regarding the company's ongoing flood
relief efforts will be provided as details are confirmed.
Hotline established
Rockwell Collins employees affected by the closure of key transportation routes between the Cedar Rapids and Coralville areas,
are requested to contact their respective leader and notify him or her of their situation. Employees who cannot safely travel
to work are encouraged to stay home. If working from home is an option, please continue to perform those duties that you can

As Cedar Rapids and much of Eastern Iowa experience flooding of unprecedented proportions, our thoughts go out to those who
have felt the effects of this catastrophic event.
Rockwell Collins facilities in Cedar Rapids and throughout eastern Iowa are largely unaffected by the floods and remain open
and operating. We are working directly with employees who have been impacted to help them address personal and family needs,
and have established procedures to conserve water and energy.
As the magnitude of this disaster continues to unfold, we’re coordinating with local and national disaster relief organizations
to determine when and how we can best serve flood victims’ needs.
